This weekend, hunters will be out in the woods with their guns looking for white-tailed deer.

According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources website, it's an extended period of this style of hunting,

For people who love the sport but not the deer meat, Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry will happily take the buck you bagged off your hands.

FHFH is an outreach ministry that  helps connect hunters with butcher shops that will help with the process.

The meat is then given to soup kitchens who can turn it in to nutritious meals for those who need it most.

You can get in touch with an FHFH coordinator near you by clicking here.

Deer involved in car crashes is also accepted by the group, which aims to use this renewable resource as a way to ensure no person goes hungry.
