  • CLEVELAND -- Police say a 16-year-old wanted in connection with the dragging death of another teen has turned himself in to police.

The teen accompanied by his father surrendered Monday evening.

Police are talking to the teen in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl.

The teenager died Sunday night after she was allegedly dragged by the suspect teen's SUV on W. 81st Street.

Police responded to a call for a woman dragged by a vehicle near 2053 W. 81st Street right after 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

They found the 16-year-old girl unresponsive at the scene.

The medical examiner confirmed Monday that the victim is Rosaura Lee Oquendo.

Oquendo was in an apparent argument with the suspect. During the argument, Oquendo, standing on the outside of the Jeep, was dragged down the street as the suspect pulled away. Her sweater got caught in the door, her family said.

Oquendo then fell from the Jeep, hitting the pavement as the suspect continued to drive away, police said.

EMS took her to MetroHealth Medical Center where she died from her injuries, police said.

Oquendo attended Max Hayes High School and was interested in modeling. She would have turned 17 on Feb. 9.

Police located the Jeep on W. 77th Street.
