FREMONT -- Three jailers face possible criminal charges for allegedly sexually exploiting a mentally disabled female inmate in the Sandusky County Jail.

Statements from the victim and the accused were recently released.

The inmate was serving jail time for phone harassment and was released just yesterday.

The investigation indicates the woman was sexually exploited January 10, 2012 after being taken from court to the isolation cell in the Sandusky County Jail.

The three corrections officers are on paid administrative leave. They could be facing departmental discipline and much more.

The investigation indicates that for six hours, the 21-year-old inmate was in her jail cell, flooded by the toilet, missing her psychiatric medication.

She later told a supervisor, "I'm schizophrenic and I was off my meds for at least 14 hours."

She said when a Corrections Officer spoke to her over an intercom to the cell "I got aroused with the man's voice."   (The corrections officer) also watched me masturbate and encouraged me."

Sandusky County Sheriff Kyle Overmyer launched an internal investigation. Fremont police did their own outside review.

In a statement, Sheriff Overmyer said proper disciplinary steps will be taken. The findings were released this week.

Because the names of the corrections officers were omitted from their statements, who is saying what is unknown.

One officer told investigators."She was hearing voices. To kill cops, myself, and everyone else."

One called it "locker room talk."

One deputy got his lunch and returned to his station to watch.

A female jailer reported the incident to superiors because of conversation among the deputies involved that she overheard.

According to the investigation this was said: "These are the kind you can talk to because whatever you say no one will ever believe them because they are crazy."

A corrections officer overheard another saying he wouldn't mind f_____, (having sex) with her. It was later denied.

Another corrections officer denies ever encouraging her to commit sexual acts.

The results of the investigation are now in the hands of the county prosecutor who will determine whether the behavior was criminal.
