CLEVELAND -- Early Thursday, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Samuel Gerard Mosley, 31, at an address around the 100 block of West Grace Avenue. in Bedford.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division worked with the U.S. Marshal's Office in South Carolina and sent information to the NOVFTF regarding the location of Mosley in Bedford.
Mosley is wanted out of South Carolina by the Laurens County Sheriff's Office for the charge of murder.
Members of the NOVFTF in Cleveland went to West Grace Ave. and knocked on the door of the suspected residence. A man fitting the description of Mosley answered the door and said his name was "Derrick."
After a quick photo comparison, task force members knew that "Derrick" was, in fact, Mosley and placed him under arrest. Mosley was then taken to the Cuyahoga County Jail where he will await extradition back to South Carolina.
Shortly following the Mosley arrest, the NOVFTF followed up on the investigation of a former "Fugitive of the Week."
Aaron Gay, 35, was wanted by the Cleveland Police for a felonious assault that he committed while robbing the victim. The NOVFTF had been working the investigation over the last few weeks and determined he was living at an address around the 9500 block of Park Heights Avenue in Garfield Heights.
Task force officers approached the residence and repeatedly knocked on the door and received no response. After several minutes, Gay answered the door and surrendered.
Gay was also taken to the Cuyahoga County Jail.
Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Andrew Deserto stated, "This was a good day for our task force. We were able to safely and successfully take two violent fugitives off the streets of our neighborhoods. I am proud of our investigators and the work that they do each and every day."
