TAOS, N.M. -- A man wanted to connection with the death of an Akron woman has been arrested by federal officials outside of Taos, N.M.
U.S. Marshals in New Mexico announced Monday that John Pritchard was arrested Friday after authorities received a tip that the 52-year-old was hiding out in rural Taos or Santa Fe.
Authorities said Robin Bailey, Pritchard's estranged girlfriend, was found dead last weekend in her home in Akron, Ohio with an apparent gunshot wound.
Deputy U.S. Marshals and the New Mexico State Police arrested Pritchard and found him with Bailey's dog and vehicle.
Pritchard is being held in the Taos City Jail on charges of receiving stolen property. He is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
It was unclear if he had an attorney.
