A 37-year-old North Canton man was arrested after authorities say he crashed his vehicle into a building Thursday afternoon.
North Canton police say Keith Stanton Jr. was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty east on Applegrove St. NW when his vehicle crossed over the two westbound lanes, struck a curb and hit a traffic sign. The vehicle then continued approximately 50 feet before crashing into the Schaub Electric building around 3:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Applegrove.
During their investigation, officers reportedly found drug paraphernalia and "a harmful intoxicant in Stanton's possession." Authorities also suspect alcohol as a factor in the incident, which is pending analysis from the Stark County Crime Lab.
Stanton was released and cited to appear at Canton Municipal Court.
He faces a series of charges including OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to control.
Stanton was not hurt in the crash.
