
ROCKY RIVER -- Cleveland Cavaliers forward J.J. Hickson racked up three speeding tickets in five months last year, including one for going 95 mph in a red Maserati. But prosecutors downgraded the violations, so the rising star only had to pay a "no-point" $50 fine for each offense.

CHARDON -- William Miralia, of Bainbridge, was sentenced by Geauga County Common Pleas Judge David Fuhry Friday to 6 months in jail and fined $2,000 for injuring a pedestrian May 5 while texting and driving.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS -- Problems began as soon as Brynna Fish got the keys to her Cleveland Heights home -- clogged drains, mold. Then there was the roof.

BAINBRIDGE -- The township has settled a civil lawsuit that accused three paramedics of failing to use a defibrillator to shock the heart of a woman in cardiac arrest, leaving her with brain damage as a result.

CUYAHOGA COUNTY -- Two of the worst offenders of Ohio's three year old smoking ban continue to be fined for allowing smoking inside their businesses.

CUYAHOGA COUNTY -- Prosecutor Bill Mason has begun returning the roughly $72,000 in campaign contributions he received from employees since 2007, his office said today.

STARK COUNTY -- The family of a mentally ill man who hanged himself with a telephone cord in the Stark County Jail has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the sheriff, jail staff and the contractor that provides medical and psychological services.
