Imagine: instead of the kids punching each other in the arm, they're using their arms, legs and every other muscle to get exercise. And the big kids in the back of the room (that's right, the parents) They're getting a workout too.
Health 360 in Mayfield Village started a family workout class to kick off the new year.
Trainer Bobby Kaleal takes the class through drills, but he says you can do all of this at home.
"We're going to use medicine balls today, we're going to use soup cans. We use wrap around for robes and we do little things with that."
During one exercise, Bobby has the families play hot potato with a weighted medicine ball. After the ball is tossed, do a squat.
"At the end of the day, you try to make it as fun as possible, regardless of whether they like it or not, we've got to get the kids to do it," says Bobby.
