An apartment building that houses people with special needs caught fire Friday and many people escaped just in time.

Twenty-two people live inside the Archwood Manor. Each one of them either has a mental illness or has special needs. And some of them had to jump through windows to escape this fire.

Investigators say it started on the first floor while the tenant was gone. The tenant had come back to the unit and opened the door and windows and the flames exploded and came all out through the hallway.

No one was hurt and the building is now boarded up and the fire marshall is still trying to determine a cause.
