KENT -- Court appearances occured Monday for the more than 30 people arrested during annual College Fest weekend in Kent.
Police in riot gear were called out late Saturday night after fights broke out among the large crowds of partiers, estimated at 3,000.
Police say some party-goers threw beer bottles at police. Officers used pepper spray and other tools to disperse the unruly crowd.
The party took place off campus on East College Avenue.
The first dozen or so of those arrested were in Kent Municipal Court Monday morning to answer to charges. Most of those in court this morning were not Kent State students.
