PARMA HEIGHTS -- A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a car on Pearl Road Friday morning.
Police say a northbound car hit the pedestrian in the 6500 block of Pearl Road at 6:40 a.m. near a bus stop.
The 77-year-old victim died at the hospital about an hour later. A spokesman at the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office has identified the pedestrian as Marion Moseley of Parma Heights.
Moseley worked at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for 35 years before retiring. She still worked part-time in marketing for the Clinic. A spokesperson says Moseley was catching a bus as she always did to come to work when she was hit.
The 61-year-old driver was taken to the police station for questioning.
The Clinic issued this statement Friday:
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our long-time friend and employee, Marion Mosley, who worked at the Cleveland Clinic for over 35 years in the media relations office. She had an incredible sense of humor, a vibrant personality and a passion for working with the local media. She has touched so many lives here and in the community. Our heartfelt sympathy is with her family and she will be missed."
