CLEVELAND -- Super Bowl XLVI -- that's 46 -- is just days away, and the social media buzz is getting louder for the big event.

Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus are taking advantage of social media networks to attract more followers and gain feedback on the main event.

It's not the Super Bowl ritual you may be used to, but it sure is now for many.

Smartphone in hand, laptops at the ready, to tweet, update and "like."

Super Bowl fans can now be a part of all the action through social networks like Twitter. Get realtime updates through official Super Bowl accounts @SuperBowl2012@SuperBowl and @nfl. Hashtags include #superbowl46, #superbowl, #XLVI, #superbowlindy.

Not a Twitter Fan? Follow the game on Facebook.  Facebook.com/IndySuperbowl2012 is the official Facebook page of the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee.

Latest status updates include finding the best Super Bowl event near you.

The official page for the NFL is easy to remember, facebook.com/NFL, where folks are commenting on the best players and plays of the year.

What would the Super Bowl be without those ads?

Now you can vote on them instead of just talking about them at the water cooler the next day.

USA Today and Facebook joined forces to create the official AdMeter. Get a preview of the ads before the big day and vote.

And yes, there are even more ways to follow the Super Bowl.
