ALLIANCE -- On a busy stretch of State Route 183, one motorist threw a puppy out of a car window at high speed.
It has outraged local police and the community.
Alliance has it's share of abandoned pet problems, but this little girl is a survivor.
Captain James Hilles said last Thursday, a three-month-old female yellow Lab was chucked out a window of a car like road trash.
The vehicle was northbound on State Route 183, just on the outskirts of Alliance.
The dog survived the fall, but had another motorist not seen the animal thrown from the car, the Lab could have been right back in harm's way.
The speed limit along that road is 55 miles per hour. The traffic is fast and heavy.
"Abandoning dogs is bad enough. The fact that someone threw it out of a moving car, trying to injure the dog, obviously makes it even more significant," Capt. Hilles said.
Due to the city's abandoned pet problems, Alliance Police started a Facebook page to reunite animals with their owners and promote adoptions.
It worked for her.
Within 24 hours of her mug being posted on Facebook, she went home to a new family.
